BirchBob at a glance
BirchBob is a private company offering services to both technology providers and technology seekers for better performing in the global technology marketplace.
From the start, in 2003, BirchBob built a network of technology providers from 5 continents, including many organizations from regions considered as the upcoming players of the future.
It innovated in its own arena by leading a unique initiative of centralizing, in a single internet search, offers of “technology opportunities” --licensing and sale of technologies and R&D collaborative projects-- from Academia, Government and Industry around the globe. This search engine is available free-of-charge on BirchBob` s website (BirchBob.com).
It created a cross-industry XML standard, with the participation of leading US technology transfer professionals, to enhance the searching process of technology transfer offers on the internet.
With Representations in Europe, Asia, and in the United States, BirchBob is now putting its networking experience at work, acting as an international gateway to strategic innovations. We assist corporations in identifying the innovations and technology partners they need for their future business development.
The name "BirchBob" is a tribute to Birch Bayh and Bob Dole, authors of the Bayh-Dole Act (USA, 1980).

XML System
In 2003, BirchBob, along with government and academic technology transfer professionals, developed an XML tagging schema that joins all the technology transfer offices from academia, government, and industry to create the first One-stop search engine for technologies available for licensing. The creation of the BirchBob Open XML Schema included input from NIH, NTTC, NASA, FLC, DOE, University of California, University of Rochester, Harvard University, and many personal contributions from people attending the Special Interest Group at AUTM' s Annual meeting in Orlando, and through the BirchBob web site. The schema represents XML tags that are placed on web pages describing an organization's technologies.
